Our Process

After your first treatment you will receive a free tube of Worcester Laser Clinic cooling gel. Your sessions will be spaced 8 weeks apart to allow your skin to fully heal ready for your next treatment. If you have another session too quickly you are setting yourself up for an increased risk of pigment change on the skin and scarring. However, you will see that the tattoo fades during your 6-week gap.

Protect Yourself

Afterwards, your skin may be red with a rash for a short period of time, but holding an icepack to the affected area may help. Your skin will also be more sensitive to the sun, so you will need to avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least a week after treatment, and you will be required to use sunscreen.

You should also avoid soap or perfumed products on the area for the first 48 hours, and swimming and saunas until the scab has fallen off. As treatment sessions progress, the skin may bleed slightly before scabbing over. It helps to regularly apply our gel if there is any blistering or scabbing.

The Treatments

It will take between 6 and 10 sessions to totally remove a tattoo, although this does depend on the colour of the ink, the density of the pattern, and the age of the artwork. Even though tattoo removal is not totally pain-free (some clients compare it to an elastic band being snapped against the skin), we will ensure that you are comfortable and happy throughout the entire process.

Recommendations

Tattoo removal is not recommended for people with dark skin, a suntan, or fake tan. It is also not suitable if you’re in the early stages of pregnancy, although there are no known risks for women who are breastfeeding.
